Submerged Aquatic Vegetation Training
Join us for a lesson on identifying the different genera and species of Submerged Aquatic Vegetation (SAV) that grow in the Gunpowder River and learn how to upload your observations with Chesapeake SAV Watchers to help ground-truth the aerial photography captured by VIMMS. Documenting existing SAV beds helps to protect them and furthers the Chesapeake Bay goals of restoring SAV to its historical levels. More SAV = more crabs, fish, and improved water quality for all to enjoy.
